This is just another in a long list of reasons that many people are fed up with our “great health-care system,” that’s so frequently touted. The profit motive in this case turns out to be the predominant complicating factor. Big pharma is clearly one of the reasons that costs are so high, dealing with the system is so complicated, and ultimately, our health isn’t all that much better than a lot of other countries. Just imagine if the doc said, “You need this drug,” and you went to the pharmacy and got it. And it was free. And your taxes simply paid for this service.
