Explain to me how "U-Haul" works?

Okay, slightly off-topic (well, WAY off topic), but anyone know where to rent a flat bed tow trailer with electric brakes? One way service between Nevada (or Arizona) and Michigan? I need to move a boat (not a sea boat, a big, huge, heavy land-yacht) and since I’ll be eventually driving back to Michigan with a big honking truck anyway, pulling the car ought to be fine. But… U-Haul doesn’t do anything beyond unpowered dollies or tow bars.

Does anyone know how UHaul keeps up with the license plates for their trucks and trailers? How do they get the new tags on the plates when renewal time comes around? With their fleet all over the place, and constantly on the more, this seems like it would be a nightmare

I received a ticket in Nebraska for towing a U-haul trailer with three year old expired plates. U-haul cut my bill in half and gave me $300 in credit for my next rental. Not too bad.
