A “whistlepig” is a collouqial name for a rock chuck (I don’t know the Latin). It is a member of the rodent family, weighs about 8-12 pounds, herbivore, lives in rock piles on the sides of mountains and low-land cliffs. They have a distinctive whistle of alarm at intruders, hence the name “whistle pig”. I chose it because I couldn’t get subscribed to the SDMB on my first few tries and finally said, “There’s no Whistlepigs, I bet!” I’d like to change it, but . . . ---

Intaglio - is a printing method, used to print Money, Stamps, anything that is legal tender, and it is used to keep the Counterfeit factor down. I was trained as a Printer in the Navy, I work at a Printing Company, so there you are. I thought it sounded good, and not too much like my original thought of a name Baroness Guttenberg. ---

I began feeding the stray cats that inhabit the woods to keep them out of my trash. A friendship was formed and soon I was the tick-picker, wound cleaner, tender of brood queens and all-around cat guy. A litter of newly weaned kits that Momma brought to introduce were dancing all over me as I sat on the back porch, and I pirated the thought from Kevin Costner’s film. ---

My name is an obscure Simpsons’ reference. There is a scene where Homer is asking Moe advice for a “friend” and he uses the name Joey Jo-Jo Jr. Shabadu to disguise himself. I thought Shabadu sounded cool, and had just seen the episode before I needed a screen name. So there you have it. ---

Like a lot of people here, I picked a user name on BBS’s in the mid-late eighties and kept it. At the time, I had hair to my waist, wore only black, and worshipped heavy metal. At times, it really pisses me off that there is at least one other guy truckin’ around the web that uses this name, but I know for a fact he’s younger than me. The lettering is, of course, a tribute to both the logo for //\etallica and the fact that in the good 'ol days before graphics, we used ansi characters a lot more than today. It’s also kinda ironic since nowadays I have really short hair and listen to a lot of hardcore rap. (but still some //\etal too) ---

I have a button that says “Ghandi would have smacked you in the head.” I like to smack people in the head…or at least I did when I was in high school. The 55 and the 69 come from high school. I was captain of the school team in the Envirothon, and got to chose the name. One year we were “Quinquaginta Quinque” (latin for 55); the following year we were “Undeseptaginta” (latin for 69). If only the academic advisor had known what we were talking about…🙂 ---

From a SNL skit where the guy who sat near the copier would nickname everyone who walked by to make copies. Imagine someone named Phil walking buy…and he would start his regular greeting… “Phil…makin’ copies…the Philster…Phil-a-roni…Phil…Phillin’ up with copies…the Philster…Phil-the-drill…” It’s just so natural and cheesey that ‘Philster’ seemed right the day I signed up ---
