Flammy, I have to back up what some other people have said–I think you have to work very hard at not caring so much about how many people like you on the boards. This can be a difficult place to stay happy if that matters to you. There’s no way a coupla hundred (or more) people are all going to like one another. My advice is to just be yourself and let yourself attract the kind of dopers who like people like you. And ALSO accept that “yourself” is going to turn off other dopers. Take me–Dopers who like cynics and cranky people and who who like to read stupid lightweight crap on the boards probably dig me. Dopers who don’t like that kind of person, or that kind of posting, probably ignore my posts. And my threads. And that’s got to be okay with me. Maybe they also occasionally gripe about my posts or my posting style. Well, let them. I’m sorry this got to be an ugly brouhaha, but I guess you understand why. Sometimes an “oops” on the board hurts your reputation, and it can take a while to die down. ---

**Flamsterette\_X** : Thank you for your explanation and apology. I suppose it was wrong to say “I never open anything by that poster anymore.” What I should have said was “I never open anything by that poster _unless I have a particular reason to do so_.” I don’t remember exactly why I opened that thread about the twins board, but as **Mauvaise** suggested, it may have been because I saw mention of it somewhere. Or maybe I just found the thread title interesting. I dunno. In any case, I never said “I will never open any of her threads in the future.” I was simply expressing that I am generally uninterested in the things you post about. I really don’t see any hypocrisy here. To the rest of you: Thanks for the kind words and support. ---

Flam - you need to get some help. You are grossly mis-interpreting what other people say. You are taking other peoples actions so poorly you are approaching a persecution complex. You are handling your anger so poorly that you have lost the good will of posters that might have otherwise respected you. You had the opportunity several times to get constructive criticism from others, but you chose to get your feelings hurt instead. Frankly, this boondoggle reminds me of the sort of shit my ex used to pull, and that is a Very, Very Bad Thing. His actions screwed up every relationship he had; if you don’t find a way to deal with your problems you’re going to be in the same situation. ---
