Maybe it’s drawing a distinction between nuts as individual objects and nuts as an ingredient or substance?

Read that passage in a 70’s edition of Guinness Book of World Records. It was labeled as the most bizarre court decision. At first, I thought he was explaining the American expression “Nuts.”

What is the sound of one groundnut grinding? The nuts that can be ground are not true nuts.
