I hate this beyond belief. To make matters worse, we had a major thunderstorm here (Metrowest Boston) this morning that scared the crap out of me and blew the large steeple off of a beautiful New England church two blocks away. There are emergency crews everywhere and I don’t even know what else happened to other people. I would just just pack up my shit and move far away today if it weren’t for my two small daughters. I was excited when they talked about Global Warming but now many people call it “Global Climate Change” which doesn’t sound nearly as appealing in real life. ---

I think Thor got drunk and dropped his hammer on the weather machine or something. Apparently some omnipotent being has decided that NYC should have so much rain that it is flooding into my apartment and molding the wall in my pantry. Fuck this weather! :mad::mad::mad: ---

It’s cold and wet, let’s go camping!!! Um… no. Humanity has spent thousands of years building shelters and perfecting indoor climate control, because being outside when it’s cold and wet sucks. ---

Heh, they’re talking temps of around 90 degrees today. I’m also in the PNW, but but south and just slightly east of Seattle. The OP’s weather sounds like our typical weather from say, October through March. Nothing we’re not used to, though we get sick of it too. ---

**DianaG,** actually, this is a dryer year than most. Typically, it’s rainy here on the 4th. This weekend, I need to make sure my yard is wet so some dumbshit doesn’t start a fire with a bottlerocket. April is typically very wet for us, we usually get a couple of nice weeks in May and June (the other two weeks of each those months being rainy), July is usually meh with periods of rain, and August is usually nice for two weeks. If we go more than a week or so with hot weather, we wonder where the hell the rain is.😉 ---

I would take rainy in December and January… You know instead of the frickin’ mounds of snow everywhere. But this raining all of June and into July crap has got to go!! Why in the world did I move to NE again?!?!?! ---

It has been interfering pretty badly with the ballgames and outdoor theater schedules too. I was laid off at the beginning of the month and intended to sit outside and surf for jobs and read the paper and go to the gym and other virtuous things, but instead I’m staying home far too often, playing games and hanging out on the Dope. At least the 4th in NYC is supposed to be OK. Here’s hoping. ---

It doesn’t stay hot here either. It usually starts in the seventies, and progressively ramps up until it’s in the high nineties and humid as hell. Then it can’t be sustained, so it rains. Usually on the weekend. Then it starts again. Here it has been raining every day, barring 1 or 2, for three weeks straight. I kid you not. ---

On my Google homepage, I get the weather report in Berkeley (where my parents are) as well as the weather here in New Brunswick, Nj (where I am for the summer). They get sun and balmy breezes. I get algae on my roof and fruitflies springing from my fridge like Athena from Zeus’s forehead, fully formed and wily. Granted, the latter may have to do with the months-old food the people I’m renting from left behind… ---

We had more than triple the average ammount of rain in June, and we had a nice thunderstorm last night. The clouds are building up big time over the mountains right now. The creeks are at bankfull and everything is lush and green. This is very unusual for July in Colorado. Things should be turning brown right now. I have yet to turn on my lawn sprinklers - the previous latest date for that was Labor Day weekend quite a few years ago. I’ve beaten the old record by four weeks. I like this. ---
