I have not updated to this thread but this is the second time in so many days that I am shaking with fear and rage-my brother-in-law had just come back from the finish line on the day of the bombings. That was one close call for the week and we counted our blessings. Well my siblings live right smack in the middle of the lockdown zone, were told to shelter in place and my sister went to work. She has put herself and others at risk…I am going to strangle her when I see her next. I can’t fathom this level of irresponsibility…she is out at her hospital now (and she’s a psych, not an ER effing physician) but can’t go home now if they don’t catch this person. Christ people, take it seriously. ---

Seriously, tho. Russian names notwithstanding, at this point it looks like a solid bet that these guys were Al Qaida recruits. It’s a shame that they took down a cop with them. Was it one police offer or two who got killed? I’ve heard both. ---

Born July 22, 1993, according to Williams, Tsarnaev attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, has a Massachusetts drivers’ license and has been in the country for around a decade. The brother, although NBC initially reported he was 20, was 26 and named Tamerlan Tsarnaev. But alas, Chechnya would not appear on a standardized globe as it is not completely independent of Russia. The better globes might have a separate designation for the Chechen Republic, but doubtful. ---
