I agree - I’m starting to notice a unity in the output of different poets.
For me, the main benefit of these Poetry Sweatshops has been that I am producing a lot more writing. Having discovered that an hour can produce something that, despite its warts, gets some kind of response makes it easier for me to write spontaneously and edit later. There’s nothing I’ve written for these that I think is ‘finished’ or that wouldn’t benefit from a lot of editing after sitting in a drawer for a month, but with a couple of exceptions, they’ve all been something I’ve thought was worth polishing further.
And on that note, I have to run and get a month’s work accomplished in the rest of the day…
I tend to peg yours, for sure. There’s a certain thematic consistency.
