# Extracting audio from DVD

Is there any software that can extact the audio from a DVD?

What are your trying to do? Are you trying to convert the audio on a DVD to put it on a CD? There are copyright questions that come into play bepending on what and why you need to do this. More information will help people answer your question.

iI purchased the DVD and I want to listen to the music wherever. If I bought the DVD I can watch the DVD at home but listen to the music where ever I am.

I do this all the time. I rip the VOBs to disk using DVDdecrypter and then extract the audio using Besweet. You can find them at [http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/software.htm](http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/software.htm)

Besweet is not verey user friendly but you can do pretty much everything with it regarding audio. You can use it from the command line or with a GUI.

I use Smartripper to extract the audio and Vob2Audio to create an editable .wav file.
