That’s not a Chinook, it’s a CH-46 Sea Knight.

Pinnacle approaches aren’t uncommon, a Chinook pilot described it to me as a very low hover with the back gear touching. The weight is never really off the rotors.

And IIRC, the Chinook is designed to float for about an hour. Its fuel tanks are those large bulges on the fuselage and provide plenty of buoyancy.
