It’s a generational thing. I don’t think millennials, generation x or generation Z are nearly as enamored of white nationalism as the boomers and silent generation are. I’m not so sure about that last bit. Each generation is raised by the one before it. All those Fox-watching, Trump-supporting adults have raised kids in a similar manner. Some of them have learned their way out, but most of them become Fox-watching, Trump-supporting adults. But then, my take is biased by the fact I taught thousands of teens in a deeply red state for a very long time. I’d love to be wrong about this. ---

The missus and me are deeply blue in word and deed, and we live in a mostly blue state (Colorado…more of a red state with some small, but persistent and intense blue stains). Of the five chilluns we’ve escorted to adulthood, 3 are bluer than we are and 2 are complete Trump-loving redneck trolls who think everyone should have to pay their own way and suffer the losses & enjoy the benefits arising from their particular choices and lifestyles. Taxes and social nets are straight up thievery and wealth redistribution. But do they ever squeal when I won’t give them gas money! I would drown the two strange ones…I’ve tried, actually, but the missus does scowl at me so. Clearly, we disagree over the definition of “sacrifice.” ---

Three kids are deep blue, and the fourth is pretty purple. The mom jumped ship and is also blue. Dad is left alone to mutter dark thoughts. ---

The U.S. is the superpower with economic prosperity key to world prosperity, geopolitical strength essential to world stability, and, in the past, inspirational moral leadership.
