Well, I was asked, but I closed the popup and was never bothered again by that. (Unless you’re accessing a page I wasn’t.) FB will always ask you to login, even if you don’t have an account, but IME most content is available anonymously if you close the login prompt. ---

Well, maybe the page you’re looking for does require login. If so, I apologize that my advice doesn’t work out. I definitely saw lots of pictures of happy critters in the various settings and facilities there, but I was just browsing around. ---

My 2¢ My account got hijacked a while back, but what was different from this situation was that within minutes my email, password, and phone number were all changed. It took several hours to undo with all the hoops I had to go thru, but I finally made it as I had one device that I had previously used to access my account that was unaffected by the hijacking. ---

Does the kennel also have an Instagram account? Could you switch to looking at your dogs there, instead of on Facebook? ---

If you must use Facebook, open a new account using a new email address. That’s the fix if your account is hacked or deleted. ---

For whatever reason (they said slow internet 🙄 they have to use facebook) I guess I should consider myself lucky. Nothing was changed. I’ll either have my wife make an account, or invent something. This is mostly about principle. An automated email giving the basics of what happened would have satisfied me. A notice saying your account has been closed and you cannot appeal this when you try to login addressed to someone else is not helpful. It does hint that it was hi-jacked because of the different name. ---

However much it costs to fix it, seeing as it was their error. It’s a $100 billion+ company. They aren’t hurting for resources to fix their errors. They asked for proof. The OP provided it. If their system doesn’t handle that proof correctly, that system is broken, and will continue to be broken for others. You can ask how much of the OP’s time it’s worth to try and fix someone else’s mistake, given how little if affects them. But when it comes to Facebook’s responsibility to fix it? The answer is 100%. It was their mistake. ---

Here’s what you do. Get a kennel with another social media platform. If that fails, or doesn’t work. Volunteer to set up Instagram on their computer. 6yo kids can do it. Shouldn’t be hard. If that fails, cancel all vacays the dogs can’t go on. Really the principal of the matter doesn’t matter in this crazy world. No one gives a shit. Especially online sites, social media and possibly not your garbage man. You’ll have to start from scratch. A do-over. Rinse and repeat. Take a loss for the team. It’s just pixels on a screen. Instagram and Facebook are both owned by Meta. You can use the login of one on the other. If you have an Instagram account, you can use that to login to Facebook. If you’re going to create an Instagram account, you may as well create another Facebook account, and if your email is banned from Facebook, it might also be banned on Instagram. ---

They are 100 miles away from me which complicates things a bit. They aren’t and shouldn’t allow a volunteer to dick around on their computer system. And I have zero idea what Instagram is. Sort of like my knowledge of fb. The only reason I had a fb account in the first place was to see what all the fuss was about.
