If I may offer some friendly advice – and I rarely offer friendly advice, so this is somewhat of a leap for me –
It’s never a good idea to brag about your IQ. Or G, or SAT score, etc. It doesn’t matter if you’re practically a living supercomputer: demonstrate your superiority, don’t talk about it.

I just thought of this one, and it in no way puts you at any kind of legal risk, but still puts a thought in the dipshit’s head.

To clarify:
I normally don’t talk in class like I do here. I only insult those who are annoying me. I have never said “I can’t be arsed” in school, and if I did, most people would laugh.
To the people telling me to suck it up: You apathetic attitudes toward bullying are the reason shit like Columbine happens. There is no excuse for bullying. I don’t care if it’s boys will be boys, it should not be done.

Oh, and the principal talked to both boys today. He said they did the thing you’d expect the two chickenshits to do. They tried to weasel out of it, claiming they “found” the fliers. The principal didn’t believe them. Jordan claimed he was suspended as a plea for sympathy, and I told him it was nobody’s fault but his own.
So basically, that about wraps this up.

As far as the idiotic and unfounded assumptions, **he asked for our opinions on what to do.** My opinion on what to do? Grow a fucking spine, realize that most people in high school are putzes who will do no better when they get out, and look forward to college. I also inferred that perhaps he’s having a rough time is because of a holier-than-thou attitude, which even seems evident in the title of the Pit thread.
That, of course, is when whoever-it-was decided to drop the bomb on me over his/her being made fun of thanks to a stutter. Whoa, Neo, not my table. Start your own thread on that if you want some fuckin’ sympathy, but don’t dump your shitpile on me, you wacky fucknugget.

I know kilo is short for kilograms, but I still don’t know how you would weigh someone in them, anymore than you could weigh someone in feet or meters. You don’t measure weight in kilograms, you use newtons, pounds, or some other unit of force. It would be more correct for this person to say they weigh 935 Newtons. (I assumed they are on Earth when I calculated the gravitional force on a mass of 95 kilograms.)

**DreadCthulhu**? That’s crap. A kilogram is a measure of weight. And you conceded that you can weigh someone in pounds, and a kilogram is merely the metric version of the old Imperial equivalent. Your logic is rubbish.
Moreover, that 4/5ths of the world’s population who measure their weight on a daily basis in kilograms? They’d tell you you’re speaking through your arse as well…

One uses kilograms to measure MASS, in the metric system. Newtons are used for force/weight(which is the gravitional force on an object), meters for length, seconds for time, ect.
In the English system you measure mass in slugs, force in pounds, length in inches/feet/yards/ect, seconds for time . . .

First off, the Imperial equivalent of a kilograms is a \* slug \* not a pound. The metric counterpart to the pound is the newton, not the kilograms.
1 pound = 4.45 newtons.
1 slug = 14.59 kilograms.
And 4/5ths of the world must be suffering from astounding ignorance if they don’t know the difference between mass and weight. Weight is the gravitional force exerted on an object; mass is a measure of the total amount of matter in an object.
For example, I weigh 170 pounds on Earth, but would weigh ~57 pounds on the moon. But in both locations my MASS would be ~77 Kilograms or 5.27 slugs.

Cripes. It’s generally not an unreasonable assumption to assume that a person posting to a message board is doing so from Earth (even **Coldfire** ), and thus mass and weight can be used interchangeably.

Oh, \*\* Rapid\_Squirrel \*\* I agree, the metric system is much easier to use, especially in things like engineering fields (I am an engineering student, and I do vastly prefer to use metric when doing work.) Still, if people are going to use metric, I prefer they use it correctly.

Okay. Then we can expect you to start your education programme on this for the uniformed 4/5ths of the world tomorrow? In the meantime I will continue my diet and keep my goal in kilos if thats okay with you, I would hate to have to lose slugs instead of kilos, they are bad enough ☹

By any reasonable yardstick, your arguement there is a particularly obtuse exercise in pedantics - one which, in the fullness of time, will alienate yourself from people simply because you insist on correcting people all the time over something which ultimately, doesn’t need correcting. And why? Because only 13 men in the history of the planet have ever had to concern themselves with what they weigh on the moon - and you’re not one of them. You’re one of the 6 billion of us who are concerned with what we weigh on Planet Earth - ergo your arguement is rooted deep within the bowels of pedantic obsessiveness.

woops - slugs and kilos are both mass, sorry. My scales measure mass then, which I can understand when I look in the mirror. I will just stick with the familiar Australian usage though, if you don’t mind.
