Is the face or body more important to you? Le’ts assume that the non-best aspect is also acceptable (so we aren’t talking about Helen of Troy’s face on some hideous body, or vice versa). So it boils down to this: would you rather be having sex with someone who has a beautiful face (where the body is also acceptable) or someone who has a beautiful body (where the face is also acceptable)? ---

Assuming no change (so the average face isn’t getting plastic surgery and the average body isn’t going to start working out) I’d definitely pick the beautiful body. Maybe it’s because the face is what you see first, but for me, if a gorgeous guy has a pot belly it’s a disappointment because the body doesn’t live up to the face - but when a plain guy has a great body it’s like “whoah … who knew he was hiding _that_??” I’m a 27 year old straight female if that matters. ---

Face. Absolutely face. A pretty woman’s face, alight with humor and focus upon _you_, can be a heart-stopping thing. A great body is a great body, and a splendid thing to see - but it’s a beautiful face that’ll cut you to the quick, in a good way. Straight male, 26. ---

Close call, but I’ll go with face. It’s what you see most of the time in daily life (even accounting for the aspects of a body which can be appreciated on a person wearing clothing), which is when sexy thoughts tend to percolate; and, let’s face it (ha!), it’s even what we look at a lot of the time during unclothed intimate acts. 40-yr-old hetero male, married. ---

Face, absolutely. I appreciate a beautiful body, but it’s just not that important to me. No matter how aesthetically perfect a body may be, pecs don’t laugh, and abs don’t moan, thighs don’t whisper, and certainly none of your parts (no really, boys, not even that one) are more intriguing at climax than your face. ---

Although there are aspects of the female body that really rev my engine, pretty eyes and a stunning smile usually are what I remember. A woman with a great smile will nearly always have my attention. ---

I could express a preference but I’d take either rather than none. Or as Alan Bennett said "That’s a bit like asking a man crawling across the Sahara whether he would prefer Perrier or Malvern water’’. I’ve found all my lovers attractive, but my friends would rate them differently. In a relationship it matters little, because once you love someone you don’t see them as beautiful or plain, after a few weeks you see them as themselves. Even just for sex, it’s a physical act not a show. I prefer the ones who use their face and their body effectively regardless of static beauty. Sexy is something you do, not something you are. My most beautiful sexual partners haven’t been my best sexual partners. Prettier people may find it easier to practice, but plainer people tend to savour it more and put in more effort. ---

Round 1) Scrawny guy with a handsome face vs Average face guy with an amazing body. Winner: Guy with the handsome face. Round 2) Fat guy with a handsome face vs Ugly face guy with an amazing body. Winner: Ugly guy Before I get into every possible variation there is, I’ll conclude by saying face is more important up until the point where the guy’s body is just plain bad. And by bad, I mean very short and/or fat. ---

The face is very improtant and I’m haveing trouble dating the girl I’m with because her face is below average and makes it hard to want to move on. But with an average face I think an amazing body would win out at least in the short term. For a relationship that will last forever the face is much more important since the body will fade but the smile and eyes won’t. ---
