Just because there was a security breach doesn’t mean phishers have stopped phishing. Indeed, they may use the known breach to lead you astray. My post stands.
If someone wants to hack in to septimus@SDMB and make me look like a fool, have at it!
Sex with sheep is fun.
Sex with sheep is fun.
I don’t know about that. Sheep pussy is really gritty.
I don’t have an Adobe account though.
I’ve got one password I use for all my fun media type stuff. I also use a separate E-mail for my fun type stuff. I use various other passwords for work or anything to do with money or my personal ID.
I’m just pissed because FB has effectively fucked up my system. Now, I have to remember two passwords for my fun media type stuff.
I post on The Huffpo from time to time. Huffpo makes me use my FB account to make posts. I’m thinking Huffpo is the guilty culprit.
I guess you do not recall precisely what website it was complaining about originally? If we knew that we would have better idea what’s going on.
Fuck using different passwords, I ain’t got time to remember that many of the damn things. Instead use different usernames. It’s a lot easier to get ahold of a forgotten username than a forgotten password.
I do use more than one password, though, one for stuff I don’t really care if someone gets into and a stronger one for stuff I do care a little about. And then a third one that’s a variation on the 2nd because some sites bitch at me for the 2nd not being long enough.
++.
I use “good” passwords on accounts that have financial implications, but the same trivial easy-to-remember password for message boards, etc. If someone wants to hack in to septimus@SDMB and make me look like a fool, have at it!
…and when they use your “fun” password to scam your friends, post malware, and leverage one account to compromise the next?
Seriously, don’t do this. I see it all the time: someone reuses a password on a bunch of sites they think are unimportant. Until one gets hacked, and then they’re all hacked, and then they discover those accounts are more important and reveal more than they thought.
Fuck using different passwords, I ain’t got time to remember that many of the damn things. Instead use different usernames.
Doesn’t help, unless you use a different email account for each. With unique passwords.
