I just started up my Facebook page recently, and every time I change my news feed setting to “Most Recent”, I find that it defaults back to “Top Stories” a few minutes later. Is there a way to stop it from defaulting back to the stories people are paying them to push?

FBP aka [FaceBook Purity](http://www.fbpurity.com/) is your friend.
Seriously, without it FB is a cesspit of horror. With it you can customise things to exactly match what you want and can cut out the ridiculous amount of total cruft and annoying stuff.
But not all browsers will work with FBP.

If you use this bookmark instead of the plain [Facebook.com](http://Facebook.com), it will do what you ask:

> **[Facebook - log in or sign up](https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr)**
>
> Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.

I also use FBP, I wouldn’t use facebook without it.
