I’ve got a friend who makes comments upon, and likes, images that I find distasteful.
I really like this friend, and his posts don’t upset me, but having him around on Facebook isn’t worth seeing the pictures that FB shows me him commenting on and liking.
Is there any way that when:

- Party A comments on party B’s images/videos/etc
- Party C, being friends with Party A and having no relationship of any kind with Party B, will not see those comments

Assume party B is posting his images publicly.

I’ll post this in case it aids understanding.
My friend has a sexual kink that he comments on a lot, and the images and videos he comments on gross me out.
These videos and photos are public, and the folks and/or organizations posting them aren’t anyone I have clicked Like on, or friended.
I’d just like to not see the pictures he comments on unless I’m seeing them because I follow the person he is commenting upon.

You can move them to the Acquaintances list, and that will drop them off your feed, but you can still message them.

Oh, only a gross sex thing? At least it’s not one of those interminable “name a state without an E” type posts.

Anyways, just hide one of the offending posts and then it’ll have an option for “change what updates you get from XXXX” which you can then click on and one of the options you can uncheck is “comments and likes.”

Yup.
Pictures of old, fat, hairy naked guys on my feed is something I don’t need.

I took your suggestion, which fixes the problem.
A better solution, which he came up with, is to make one profile that he’ll use to interact with his community.
That way his straight friends from high school, college, family, etc don’t have to look at anything that will make it impossible to eat and Facebook at the same time…

Not sure how well it will work, but on the right side is a drop down menu. You can ‘Hide…’ the post. It will ask you if you want to be make them an acquaintance, it will also ask you to say why you hid the post. Not sure if it will block all from that other person/group but it’s a start.

On his profile click on Friends, and you should find an option in there to choose what you see of his in your feed. Untick comments and likes.

Then do this for everyone else. (I find Facebook’s habit of sharing this by default unbelievably intrusive).
