I have a FB account and use it a lot, which is pretty rare I think, for women of my age (58). At least, none of the friends I used to work with or go to school with have accounts or they are difficult to find because of name changes etc. I like it. I can keep up with friends I don’t see often because of time constraints or geography. I can see photos of my friend’s newest niece born in New Zealand and pics of her latest hairstyle. (The friend, not the neonate.) I like hearing that my friend in regional Victoria’s son has finally had a haircut and posted a photo to prove it. Way too trivial to bother sending an email with a photo attachment but the sort of thing we’d laugh over if we lived close enough to each other to get together for coffee. I don’t have three thousand friends - only people I actually know and like - but I do wish my cousins were a bit more findable. I think I must be getting more nostalgic as I age. ---

I love facebook and am on many times a day. Besides my personal use, I also use it quite a bit for work; part of my job is to update my organization’s fb page. ---

I don’t have one and never will. nothing in my life is interesting enough to warrant posting anything about it. The few people I care about I see on a regular basis anyway, and there’s no way in hell I want to “re-connect” with anyone I went to school with. ---

I just went to school for social media marketing. I damn well better have a Facebook account. 🙂 I also have Twitter and G+ which I use regularly, and LinkedIn which I use intermittently (and then only because I’m looking for work). ---

I got sucked into Facebook while I was living on the west coast as a way to keep in touch with the many cousins I had back on the east coast. I keep my friend list pretty small, always less than 100, usually around 60-80, mostly family (about 3/5). I log in a few times a day to keep up on whatever movie quote status, who can provide the funniest/most inappropriate caption, etc we have going on. ---

I created one when my kids wanted pages. They could have theirs but the requirement was that they must friend me. I think I’ve posted to it about 5 times over the last 5 years and I posted pictures once when I renovated my office and wanted to share with some coworkers and friends. Now the kids are all grown up and do not need monitoring. ---
