Facial Hair & Attractiviness

Not I. I shave only once a week just to ugly myself up a little. Good looks are often such a burden.

First thing a woman notices is a handsome face.

Facial hair is fool’s gold. A pretty wrapper on a pencil with your name on it.

Going back to the OP:

“Attractive” is not some innate, unchangeable, platonic ideal binary state that you either have or do not have. You are attractive insofar as you are attracting positive attention. If you are super handsome without a beard and gross with one, and you wear a beard, you are not attractive in your current state. If you shaved, you would be attractive. Neither situation negates the other.

Seriously, take a look at Andrew Lincoln:

Without beard = ehh.
With beard = yes, please!

Historical example:
Not bad
I would follow this man into hell

CONVERSELY:
Attractive man
Dear god, NOOOOO

…the one who likes you back.

Look, you can chase the Beauty of the Northern Lights until you run out of gas, run out of road, or run out of car. In the end, as you fall from exhaustion and are on your knees, its just as distant, isn’t it?

Find that One… the one who would chase you as hard as you’d chase them… the one that would kiss you as hard as you’d kiss them. You can hiss and spit and go at each other as long as you want… as long as both of you end up clawing each other’s back.

Sometimes, life works that way.
…but only if you are VERY lucky…

I’m not sure that I fully agree with that. I think that a lot of the things women do to their skin and eyebrows means that, without makeup, they look freaky. Theoretically the makeup allows them to correct for the freakiness and improve on their original looks, but most likely a lot of women would look just as good without makeup if they hadn’t overplucked and sandpapered their skin down to a weird shine.

In the specific case of celebrities, I think there’s the added factor that many of them are older than we would expect based on their camera appearances, where they have professional lighting, cinematographers, and makeup artists working on them. In their prime, they were probably good looking. Now they’re people who, through devoted effort, can be restored to good looking under the right conditions.
