I did. It’s not one formula, it’s many. See post #33.
Yes, and the point I was trying to make was that you might be missing a few things. Researchers spend YEARS studying the very thing you’ve been talking about. It is a complicated, complex issue with specific myriad criteria to measure and evaluate and that can’t be summed up by a layman who watched 20 episodes closely and “didn’t find anything.”
OK, Marge, if that’s your idea of a formula, then fine, it’s all based on formulas.
Now, back to the OP.
Last night I did notice the handling of one story - the NO Mayor Nagin’s repopulation/reevacuation orders - that would argue in favor of the bias claim. Both Fox and CBS covered the story in about the same place in their newscast, and each network laid out the basic facts. However Fox spent much more time on it. More importantly, those who watched CBS were probably left with the impression that the primary motivation for Nagin’s reversal of plans was the new hurricane, Rita, bearing down on the Gulf coast. Those who watched Fox were probably left with the impression that it was the urging of George Bush and those in his administration that changed Nagin’s mind.
All in all it struck me that Nagin, a Democrat, came out less favorable in Fox’s coverage than CBS’s.
