Faithful film adaptations of books

The 1970s miniseries “I, Claudius” was pretty faithful to Robert Graves’s two novels although
even with 13 hours, quite a bit gets left out.

“Gone With The Wind” the movie does leave out Scarlett’s two children with her first two husbands (although they aren’t very important) and minimizes Margaret Mitchell’s repeated instances that blacks were better as slaves.
