I was wondering what FiOS is. In case anyone else is wondering: Wiki says it’s Fiber Optic Service and maybe Irish for “knowledge.”
Seems like 10 years ago people were talking about upgrading to fiber optic. Why haven’t we? The cable companies don’t seem to have a problem upgrading everyone to digital.

I tried to get FiOS, but apparently Seattle downtown is “owned” by QWest and no one else can put any other wires in.
I had fiber optic when I was living in Tokyo and it rocked. Buying hour-long TV shows on iTunes only took 8 minutes to download, on average.
