One day before the Autumnal equinox, Denver got it’s first taste of fall weather, with cold rain and even a few flurries in places. The high for the day was 58° F at 12:01 AM, but from about 7 AM through the rest of the day it didn’t get out of the 40’s.

Lots of snow in the mountains and foothills just above me.

It’ll be back in the mid 70’s by Friday, but it was a nice hint of what’s to come.

It’s supposed to be fuh-reezing down here tomorrow - like 15’ in the morning. Not ready! Not ready!

It was 80 and humid here today. Even though the geese are flying, fall is not yet here.

15 feet of snow in September?!! That IS harsh weather.

They say that by the end of next week we may get 70 degrees in the early morning and in the 80’s during the day. I’m looking forward to a little relief from the feels like 108 days. I’d be almost giddy if I weren’t so hot and sweaty.

I had a light dusting of snow on my lawn yesterday morning. Saturday is supposed to be 80°.

It’s worth noting that [some authorities](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/161/is-it-true-summer-in-ireland-starts-may-1) don’t consider the seasons to “officially” start on the equinoxes and solstices at all. In fact, the best definition of the seasons “for practical purposes” (nothing, apparently, is ‘official’) is that fall/autumn starts on September 1.
