Two pages of doggies, squids and wingnuts… Just one Marine. Normally the odds would still be in favor of the Marine at this point, but Uncle Bill is a Major. And as everyone knows, an officer, even a major, can be an awfully confused and sometimes pathetic looking creature without at least one NCO nearby to cover his ass while giving him someone to order around, so I’m just here to do my job! USMC '84 - '91 Boot camp in San Diego Some of the time actually doing my MOS’s, 6367/6357/6317 (F/A-18 IWT, AQ and AT in squid speak) As much time else as possible doing “grunt stuff”. Most time spent at MCAS El Toro and Camp Pendleton. VMFA-531, VMFA-323, VMFAT-101. Waiting for Major Uncle to assign him some rocks to paint 😃 ---

Am I the first actual army chick to check in? Army Radio Operator - Detached to the infantry - four years in the primary reserves - left as a corporal. 1 year left on the supplementary reserve list. And I got one thing to say - you think guys in uniform get hit on, try being the only chick in the field. There’s a reason why you are armed! ---

I looked at past posts and realized that I didn’t do my record justice. . . **Tripler:** US Air Force 2nd LT 5th Civil Engineer Squadron, Minot AFB Prime BEEF AEF 7 & 8 AFSC: 32E1E Electrical Engineer Currently: 5 CES/CECP Civil Engineer Programmer With Prime BEEF, I basically do _ **everything** _. I rebuild runways, set up airfields, make sure your tent has lights, get you running water in your S/S Latrine, etc. You want _Bob Vila_? You got it. I’m just a hell of a lot more nicer. Tripler Beer always helps your work order. ---

2LT, Inf., and 1LT and CPT, JAGC, U.S. Army, 1967-1972. I was very lucky. Sam wanted me more as a lawyer than as a rifle platoon leader(to which I probably owe my life) and never asked me to serve in a combat zone. ---

SSgt, USAF, 6 June 1983 till 4 April 1990 Started at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX just like all other Air Force recruits. Then onto Lowry AFB, Denver, CO for Motion Picture/Television Schools. AFSC started as a 232X0 then was changed in the late 80’s to 231X3 (same job just different numbers). Then onto Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX for 2 years to work in the television productions facility in Secret Square. Then onto Hickam AFB in Honolulu, HI for my last four years. In Hawaii I was a member of the 1363 Audiovisual Squadron and a proud member of the Flying Swine. They eventually changed our name to Air Force Combat Camera about the time that I separated. I went on terminal leave early in March of 1990 and was promoted to Staff Sergeant on what I feel was quite appropriately April Fools Day, and I separated four days later. Going to the field for us in the Aerospace Audiovisual Service was generally called Hilton or Ramada. We didn’t rough it too often. I have been out for a decade and am very happy. But then again I am still wearing blue in my heart. I saw the handwriting on the wall in the late 80’s as they were starting to cut career fields and military members for budget cuts and got out when the getting was good for me. Still miss it. ---

Six years active duty 688 class fast-attack boat, ship’s diver. Five years active reserve, explosive ordnance disposal assistant.
