# Falling Skies

First things first: the show has been renewed for a [fifth and final season](http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/07/18/the-last-ship-major-crimes-falling-skies-renewed-by-tnt/284156/).
Anyone else still watching this? I am, but only out of lack of anything else to watch. It rebounded a bit from the clusterfuck of the first episode this season, but still really feels like it’s jumped the shark. There’s no sense of working towards any overarching win for humanity… our group of characters has left the larger human forces and gone out on their own, and are basically just in survival mode rather than figuring out how to beat the aliens. The last episode saw the 2nd Mass eviscerated down to 30 people. Side characters like Lourdes (yay), Dr. Kadar (boo) and Tector (boo) got killed off, because the show writers obviously had nothing more for them to do anymore. And Lexi continues to be one of the most annoying characters ever created.

We gave up after about four eps, writing it off as an inept me-too effort that showed just enough promise to be sad.

I havent seen this show in a while by second season 2. Maybe i might check it out later on in a bit.

Also why I stopped watching. And I’ve been reading SF since the middle 50’s.

Well, shoot. We’re having a watch-a-thon to catch up this weekend. Guess I’ll let you know how it goes then.
We lost track in the middle of last season (cross-country move), so we’ve got some catching up to do.
