OK, Tristan makes 36. In the interest of not holding up anyone else who might want to do one (and does anyone else think a Family Feud based on Sampiro’s stories of his family wouldn’t be the greatest thread evah?), I will close the answers when I get home from work this evening, approx. 6 PM Eastern Standard Time.

I’m just hanging around waiting for the next game - I looked at the these questions and said fuhggehddaboudid
I will fail miserably at this
After looking at the other answers, I feel that not seeing 300 has put me at a disadvantage.
OK, bump is 39, and it’s just past 6 PM, so I’ll be back with Final Jeopar…err…the final tally.

Individual question responses, with my comments:
This question had the most wide range of answers, with no clear winner.
S. Foote 3
S. Ambrose 8
J. Keegan 8
J. McPherson 1
Clauswitz 1
D. Kagan 1
J. Caesar 5
A. Brice 1
N. Sheehan 1

B. Catton 1
Heroditus 1
Clauswitz 1

Surprisingly, Sun-Tzu got no votes in Category 1, but ran away with category 2. Clauswitz’s On War was the only other book to get multiple votes.
Art of War 31
Achtung Panzer 1
The Prince 1
Price of Admiralty 1
On War 3
Geurilla Warfare 1
Strategy:The Indirect Approach 1
Waterloo a clear winner here, unsurprisingly.
Waterloo 22

Gettysburg 1
Agincourt 3
Pyrrhic 1
Little Big Horn 2
Cannae 4
Tsushimas Strait 1
Isandlwana 1

I was surprised by only one Russia response.
Belgium 4
Poland 10
Iraq 1
France 21

I guess the Spartans benefitted from wordof mouth from 300. Mongols shamefully undervoted, imo. (Which is why I wouldn’t have won, as I would’ve voted Ghengis’ boys here.)
Spartans 20
Bezerks 1
Zulus 5
Germany 4
Romans 1
Ghurkas 3
Huns 1
Cossacks 1
Apache 1
Mongols 1
Belgae 1
West Point dominated this category. I was thinking that Annapolis would’ve split the US votes, but sadly, the USNA couldn’t outpoint the Citadel.
West Point 33
Sandhurst 4
The Citadel 1
USNA 1
In keeping with the Spartans, Thermopylae won this category, although there was some stronger competition.
Marathon 8
Cannae 4
Thermopylae 18
Issus 1
Salamis 1
Jericho 2
Actium 1
Megiddo 1
Troy 1
Gaugamela 1

I was unclear here perhaps, as I was looking for a specific model of tank. But I decided the generic Panzer was a legit answer, due to potentially misleading wording.
Panzer 10
Tiger 2
Big Bertha 1
M3 1
Sherman/M4 20
T-34 2
Panther 2
KV-2 1
Lot’s of guesses, but I scored wrong guesses, other than Cap’t Cruch. Gridley was the captain of the U.S.S. Olympia at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish American War.

John 1
‘Nobody of Importance’ aka Roberts, D. Pirate 2

Thanks for all the responses, and I hope you enjoyed the game.
How’d I do?
Thanks for tallying it up. It was a lot of fun.
I was suprised that the tribe question went so much for the ancients, rather than modern tribes/groups. I’d have guessed it would be dominated by Ghurkas, Kurds, Maori, and Zulu, maybe with a nod to the Apache or some of the other Native American tribes.
ETA: I’m not at all surprised to see no one listed Sun Tzu as a military historian - my understanding about The Art of War is that it’s more a discussion of what the best thinking about fighting should be, only loosely illustrated with examples.
Thanks for the game.
Woo Hoo, that’s the first time I’ve been higher than about 13th in one of these things. Very happy to share the top spot, despite being nowhere near as sensitive as Darth.
