**1 Name one of the seven dwarfs who’s name does not end in the letter Y** OK Doc was number one with 43 responses well 44 since I went ahead and counted the reply “Dock” as Doc. Only 2 people said Bashful and 2 people did not respond **2 Name one of Santa’s 8 reindeer who’s name does not rhyme with another member of the team.** Number one was Rudolph, who wasn’t one of Santa’s eight but wrong replies count. Comet and Cupid both got 11 Dasher got 5 Donder/Donnor got 4 and Blitzen, which rhymes with Vixen, got 2. **3 Name a European city that you would like to visit.** Paris in a landslide with 21. London got 8 Amsterdam got 4 Prague and Rome got two. **4 Name a US City that you would not like to visit.** Detroit got 19 and then Gary Indiana got 4. (what’s up with that?) Atlanta got 3 and Dallas got 2. **5 How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?** A rather silly question but the correct response ‘as much wood as a woodchuck could etc’ got 7 responses. “A Cord” and “42” got 3, and 3 cords got 2 **6 Who was that guy, you know, in that movie?** Steve Buscemi got 3, (which was the correct response by the way) Tom Hanks, Robert DiNero and Kevin Bacon each got two. **7 Name a treaty that ended a war.** Versailles is the place to go to make peace with 39 responses. I must have learned _A Visit from Saint Nicholas_ from an unusual edition of the poem, as my childhood copy referred to two of the reindeer as Donder and Blitzen, and I remember my mother explaining that the words were German for “thunder” and “lightning”, respectively. Ah, [here’s what the good folks at Snopes have to say on the matter.](http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/donner.asp) I was born in 1959, so I guess the publishers of my copy kept “Donder” about ten years after the Gene Autry recording had established “Donner” as the default spelling and pronunciation.
