# Family Guy: 9/27/09 (open spoilers)

Pretty good. The multiverse gags were alot better than I thought they’d turn out. Big improvement over the usual cut to some random overly long sight gags. When they got to Planet of the Dogs was anyone else thinking “Why aren’t he humans naked?” and why aren’t any of the dogs (who are all clothed) reacting to Brian’s nudity? :dubious: I know I’m overthinking this. What was the cheap blocky animation universe supposed to be parodying?

On the other hand, that one dog did call Brian a freak when he was clearly…er…enjoying the human woman’s attentions, which is more acknowledgement than the bestiality aspect of Brian constantly dating human women usually gets.

It’s been my experience in the past that Family guy and American Dad were up on Hulu the by Monday afternoon.
Which is good, since I didn’t record American Dad tonight.
As for the OP, I found it quite funny!
Also, non-Christian reality Meg was SMOKIN’ HOT!
And as soon as Walt knocked on the door in the Disney-verse, I just about shit myself laughing. heeh

Perhaps they were making fun of themselves? The early episodes are now with hindsight a bit over par and lacking in smoothness. IIRC that Universe had all of the hatred and sickness that was to come but was put forth with all the might of an early 80’s video game.

It reminds me of something I’ve come across while channel surfing and wondered what the hell it was.
Loved the Disney, Robot Chicken and our reality versions of Stewie and Brian. Too bad they couldn’t find a real kid with a bigger head.

I did not think it was particularly great - the show is clearly slowing. Some of the bits were brilliant, but they were wedged into absolutely terrible pieces. Plus, McFarlane is clearly getting both preachy and demonstrating that he seems incapable of creating a _plot_. Or maybe it’s that he’s now a big shot himself, but he still says some very nasty things about people who deserve a lot better than him.

I totally and absaloutly love FG but this was very lame.
I cant understand why the people who are literal geniuses for episodes fail so badly at longer productions.
It was the same disappointment for The Simpsons and Futurama.
I suspect that its not the writers but interfering producers trying to do "Something different "in the movies.
People go to watch the film of the T.V. series because thats what they enjoy,not some frustrated director/writer hoping to be discovered.

I thought it was pretty good. But I was most impressed by their ability to imitate so many cartoon styles. Especially the Disney style; that was incredible just to look at, let alone funny.

The real-life baby and dog made me LOL. I thought the whole multi-universe bit was brilliant.
Especially the one with all the fire hydrants - Brian: “Love it.” Stewie: “Hate it.” then with all the gay guys - Stewie: “Love it.” Brian: “Hate it.”
I still think Family Guy is pure genius, but I also have a twisted sense of humour.

Indeed—I think that was some of the finest quality western animation I’ve seen in months. Maybe longer.

I think that was a jab at some of the really crudely animated Adult Swim stuff like Home Movies or Aqua Teen.
But I loved the jab at Robot Chicken, because you know, deep down, Seth Green probably really hates it. And yet, Seth MacFarlane keeps taking shots at it.
