Usually, the politically incorrect idiot we laugh at is Peter and it’s okay for him to make those kinds of jokes because he’s an ignorant buffoon. Last night’s episodes felt like it was the writers who were the idiots. I mean, see what they were trying to do and what they were getting at, and it could have be so totally meta and if there’s one culturally sensitive subject they’ve abstained from, they haven’t anymore! Because it’s Family Guy! Still, for all that it _could_ have been, it wasn’t… but that’s because the storyline wasn’t Peter-gets-offensive-and-learns-a-lesson like the previous ones were. The offensive stuff was in the backdrop of OMG-BRIAN-DIED.DDUUUUUUUUDEWTF!!! ---

Why bring up Stewie trying to fix the time machine if they weren’t planning on using it? Why make it as simple as a single part? This has Chekhov’s gun written all over it. ---

Stewie’s sad little hand-tremble as they were lowering Brian’s coffin nearly made me cry. ☹ But Quagmire watching the Red Sox game at the funeral was hilarious. He hated Brian. ---

Because they needed to explain _why_ Stewie just couldn’t build another time machine. I (and quite a few others) think the Chekov’s Gun was the store clerk mentioning that the Jolly Time Farm Playset that Stewie was available for the first time on that day (so we know that Stewie knows exactly where and when somebody with access to a time machine will be). Meanwhile, here’s another question: is the identity of the driver of the car that killed Brian important? The car looked an awful lot like Brian’s Prius (although I didn’t see the license plate, which should be “BRI DOG”). Here’s a crazy theory: for some strange reason, the Brian that Stewie retrieves is the Brian that would have died in “Road to Vegas”, so now there are two Brians, and “new” Brian has to kill the other one to prevent any chance of anybody detecting both Brians at the same time. ---

I was shocked and dismayed with this episode. I’m a huge Brian fan. Brian Griffin is my favorite actor. I’ve got a signed copy of his novel, … _Faster Than The Speed of Love._ Anytime I go to a party I use his line…“Whose leg do I have to hump to get a dry martini around here?” Re that new Brian like dog… Anyone remember several years ago when \*New Brian \* moved into the house? He told Stewie he did something very rude to Ruppert. Last scene showed Stewie dragging a bloody pillow case full of dead… New Brian to the garbage can. I suspect Stewie will get the gizmo he needs to make a new time machine. Last night his usual source, a middle Eastern appearing man, had none due to post 9/11 crack downs. Stewie will find another source… a right-wing/teabag/Republic Party/anti gov’t guy. He’ll go back and get Brian, too be sure. ---

The first joke the show ever did was a Holocaust joke. ---

Then I hit forward on the DVR after Stewie and new dog bonded a bit (thinking, yeah, you hold onto that feeling, new dog, you’re gonna be gone in a few minutes anyway) and… the credits?!? WHA? If they’ve been hyping a death on the show, I’ve missed it. ---

Brian is a dick. For awhile there it seemed like he was Seth’s mouthpiece. The part where Quagmire is shown to hate Brian is kind of a “take that,” except when pot Quagmire calls Brian a black kettle for trying to have sex with Lois. TV shows reuse scenery like cars all the time, but a Prius seems too intentional. ---

Well, after several facebook friends spoiled the fucking plot, I watched the episode. I love the idea upthread that Stewie still can meet up with himself buying that Christmas present in the future. I think we need to publicize that theory, because if it wasn’t what _ **Family Guy** _ was planning, they’re in kind of a bind. They have to address that. Stewie knows the exact day that the Jollytime whatever the fuck is coming out, and he’ll be hyper-aware of another timeline of himself being there on that day. But I think they’re bringing Brian back, anyway. That mafioso-dog is just too thin a character to really think they’re making him a part of the cast.
