> Stewie believed Brian was a normal director and didn’t know that he was in fact a porn director instead. The reference to astroglide just further the notion that the family wasn’t aware of Brians new job.

Seeing that this link isn’t exactly safe for **flamingbananas** ’ mother, perhaps it’s not safe for work, either. Do you care to provide some clarification, please?

Intimate lubricant.

Think lots of hot skin-on-skin action. 😉

I gathered as much. I was simply wondering whether my suspicion of the link being unsafe for work was correct. If so, perhaps a warning would be in order.

Sorry, didn’t mean to suck\* all the fun out of the thread.

\*and squeeze, and rub and lick 😉

I always gathered that it wasn’t a case of Stewie not knowing how to use the toilet or provide food for himself, but why bother when those needs are all taken care of without him having to lift a finger? In fact, he even uses it as a threat at times (when Chris becomes an artist and Peter gets a birthday card from Stewie and Stewie is angry because Lois forged it and he promises he’ll crap double for her). It’s kinda hard typing Family Guy stuff when I’m watching the Simpsons episode where Homer becomes an artist. Good stuff.

Other than the fact that you might not want ‘Astroglide’ on your workplace internet logs, not really. There’s no images of the produce in use, for instance - at least not on the front page, which is as far as I looked.

> Since you’re in the UK (which is close to Ireland) I have a question. In one of the episodes, there’s a museum of Irish heritage which has animatronic displays featuring a man drinking at a bar and then punching his wife in the face, and another one of a woman on her knees praying and then tilting back and popping out a baby.
>
> I think it’s hilarious, but do you know how funny real Irish folk find it? I imagine they think it’s pretty funny as an anachronistic stereotype, but people sometimes have thin skins when it comes to humorous portrayals of them on TV (even Americans, believe it or not).

I can honestly say I have never asked any of my Irish friends whether or not they find it funny to be considered drunken wife-beating super-religious baby machines. Nor will I be doing so in a hurry because I can’t think of a sensitive way of raising the matter. One guy did threaten to smash someone’s face in when they said “top o’ the mornin’ t’you!”

I imagine it’s basically the same as calling Scots drunken grasping cholesterol-stuffed self-hating knife-fighters. It’s a reasonable joke, of sorts, but we don’t really recognise ourselves. We recognise your notion of us - and we may laugh because we understand what the gag means to you, but it’s not actually hilariously funny to us, because we of all people know that it’s about someone who does not exist. We _get_ it, we just don’t get it. Get it?

I was preparing a hilarious caricature of Americans for you, but I’m too tired and anyway you’re all doing so well at it yourselves.

Oh, I see.

I’d say “carry on,” but there seems to be quite enough carrying on in this thread already, doesn’t there?
