IMO most sisters tend to get along pretty well even as adults. Brothers - they are get along well, or they dont. Brothers and sisters - tend to be in between but are usually at least polite with each other. But not usually as close as sisters tend to be. Granted these are all in general and many a sister doesnt get along. What do you all think? ---

I think proximity in age and personality are more important than gender. ---

My relationship with my sibs vary in closeness but it’s how much of an ass were being rather than gender which defines it. ---

If alcohol is involved, all bets are off. My brother and sister were best friends when young. Then he fell into the bottle, lost his family, and somehow managed to blame our sister for his miserable life. They didn’t speak for 20 years, and barely spoke up until she died. He and I are presently on the outs, because even though he’s been sober for nearly 30 years, he’s still an asshole. ---

8 sibs, 7 surviving, 5 girls, 2 boys, changes over time in degree of closeness or ability to get along. G B B G G G G We have mostly been scattered over the globe as adults. On serious family matters, ie, parental health care, even with dissension on what course to take, all supported parents decisions. Politically = all over the map Trouble = all come together Can do family get together without blood shed. Now getting older, all at least 60, things get easier, not perfect, just better. ---
