I was making a point on a discussion list recently about people who are famous for being famous. That is, folks who are famous, but the general population can’t remember or don’t know why that person rose to fame in the first place. My argument was that in 10 years, this will happen to Michael Jackson, as he’s not exactly releasing “Thriller”-caliber material as of late, and soon the younger generation will simply know him as “the guy who bought the elephant man’s bones and sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber.” Can you help me think of examples of people who are famous for being famous? Or folks who are about to be in this category? I’ll get things started: 1. Liza Minelli 2. RuPaul 3. Hi, Opal! ---

Cato! anyone on any of the Survivor shows! i think it would be nice for M Jackson to be remembered as a pedophile freak, as his “contributions” to these disciplines are by far his most noteworth accomplishments… (hey, johnny! is the Daily Trojan available on-line? and when the hell are we going to have a football team worth a shit?) ---
