In college, Jeff Jaeger set an NCAA record for having kicked the most field goals; after going pro, he — well, yes, there was a year when he kicked more field goals than anyone else in the NFL, like you’d maybe expect, but he also thereby scored more _points_ that year than _anyone else in the NFL._ I mean, yeah, there was a time when running back OJ Simpson was the NFL annual scoring leader, and a time when it went to wide receiver Jerry Rice — but, well, nothing stops a kicker like Jaeger from having a year like that either, is all. ---
