There are a couple of athletes (no one particularly famous) with the last name **Gnat**. Stephen **Goldfinch** is a state senator from South Carolina. Felix **Mallard** is an actor with many TV roles in the past 10 years. ---

Dopers being what we are, I figure it’s a toss-up as to whether folks would first recognize Len **Birman** from SILVER STREAK with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor, or from the 1970s CAPTAIN AMERICA made-for-TV movie pitting Reb Brown against Christopher Lee. (Or, y’know, from any one of half-a-hundred other things.) ---
