Bwah! I’m so calling him Captain Poncington from now on. For serious fic, one development I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the [ALT+F4](http://www.livejournal.com/users/musexmoirai/8849.html#cutid1)\* universe - vignettes from what basically amounts to a cyberpunk version of PotC. No, really. It works better than you’d think. My favorite story so far is [Felix Culpa](http://www.livejournal.com/community/pirategasm/102419.html#cutid1) - it’s got a very _Second Renaissance_ feel. \*Link goes to the first story - others are linked from the author’s LJ. Some other writers have started doing ALT+F4 fic, but they’re all linked there. ---

That’s a good rec, **kos**. I like how quickly other people have snatched up that universe. I’m having a tad bit of trouble wrapping my mind around how Jazz works, but perhaps some rum would help. Damn, gotta work tomorrow. There’s a OT3 WIP called “A Pirate’s Life” that’s really sucked me in. Excellent characterization, and the girl does very well writing a sympathetic Poncing—I mean, Norrington–and (get this) gives Will a personality beyond his pirate/not pirate conflict. OTP is a fandom acronym for One True Pairing. OT3 is a pun on OTP - means One True Threesome, rather than a pairing. (It’s been around longer than PotC.) I never thought I’d be an OT3 kind of person myself, but even I cannot deny the power of the Jack/Will/Elizabeth. ---

OT3 = One True Threesome, a variant of OTP (One True Pairing), meaning the pairing/arrangement within a fandom that pushes your buttons most.
