# Fannie May and Freddy Mac Nomenclature - D'oh!

For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what the hell these names had to do with mortgage loans. Then today it came to me that they are “extractions” (if that’s the correct word) for Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) respectively.

Still. Pretty dumb names.
