For good or ill, depending on your political stripes, I don’t think we’ve seen as entertaining a political figure as Dubya take center stage since Dan Quayle. And I believe we’ve missed a pretty good bet in Sarah Palin. At least, Tina Fey might think so. But she’ll be back, no doubt. That said, please give me your most enduring memory of Dub for our family album. Everything is welcome. For example: **Favorite Manglish** Winner: Strategery. Honorable mention: misunderestimated. (This one might actually make it) **Favorite joke** Condoleezza Rice: Mr. President, I have bad news. Six Brazilian policemen were killed in today’s riots. Dubya: My God, that’s awful. (He pauses in consternation.) Entertaining? Edwin Edwards was entertaining. Huey Long was entertaining. Gerald Ford was entertaining if you like slapstick. Bill Clinton was entertaining. Shrub was mostly annoying, mixed with embarassing. ---

I hate to stick up for the guy, but “strategery” was from an SNL skit (the Bush-Gore debate where Gore’s solution was to put everything in a “lockbox”). As for things the man actually said, [“Fool me once…”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A) was comedy gold. I’m looking forward to a much less entertaining eight years. ---

\*\*Munch \*\*and **Schmoe** , just watched the SNL Gore v. Bush debate video. Loved it. Amazed that I missed it. It’s possibilistic (thank you, G.B. Trudeau) that I will have to find another winner. Thank you for the education. Actually, it clears up the “lock-box” joke that I \*thought \*I’d gotten (but actually didn’t really) in the “Alternate Universe” State of the Union speech by Gore on SNL. ---

I think my favorite was his observation that “Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” I would’ve been entertained more by his presidency is it hadn’t had such horrible results. ---

In a way it’s sad: I get the impression that now, finally, far far too late, Dubya was finally starting to get the smallest spark of a clue. Like an axe murderer being strapped into the electric chair and starting to wonder if maybe, just maybe, he did something wrong. ---

Well, [giving the mother of a soldier who was killed in Iraq a Presidential coin and telling her not to sell it on eBay](http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/05/bush_to_mother_dont_sell_on_eb.html) is one of those things that sticks in my mind as being pretty high-larious and a good indicator of him not giving a flying fuck what anyone thinks. i gotta go with the ob-gyn comment. that was stand out. he would have been funny if he was vice president. as president not so funny. when the entire 8 years can be summed up by the quote “so what” from bush and “so” by cheney, they are so far gone from reality that even a long stay at gitmo couldn’t give them a clue. ---
