She lied to Molly to protect her husband.

But before that, she was about to give away the info to Molly \*\*twice \*\*and Lester had to poke her to make her shut up.

Weren’t you watching that part?

Most everyone should know that you should never volunteer any info to the police unnecessarily. It can always come back to bite you - even if you are totally innocent.

You have to answer any questions they ask that you know they already have the answer. But aside from that, it is flirting with danger to volunteer any info to the police. And it’s very stupid to do that as well.

Everything in a Vegas hotel, including the interior of the elevators is video recorded. They will have Malvo committing the deed and Lester surviving and attacking Malvo.

It is in Lester’s changed character to no longer back down. I think the Malvo would have killed him as soon as he had help moving the bodies, same as with the trainer.

> And now maybe Bill will see that Molly’s the smartest one in the bunch!

Mr. Solverson knew exactly who he was talking to in that the guy was a bad guy. That is why he told the 20 dead bodies story. He didn’t tell Molly because he didn’t want her even looking at him as he headed out. Neither Solverson has ever said “yes” to Malvo. I think that in order for him to have spiritual authority to kill someone that you must say “yes” or knowing go along with something improper, like the dentist and hygenists who knew they weren’t supposed to see someone in witness protection, or the new Mrs. Nygaard, who lied to Molly about why they left Vegas. She knew that Lester was running from something, but she did not know what. I also think that Malvo knew that it wasn’t Lester he was shooting. Lester has death or something uglier waiting for him when Malvo catches up. But between Molly, Gus and Mr. Solverson, Malvo might be in trouble. Also, Key and Peele want redemption and have no moral reason to be denied.

Molly was smart enough to not tell Bill “I told you so” and Bill is stupid, not nasty. Just being a woman and being right when the men are wrong would be enough in most police departments to get her on the permanent shit list.

Security cameras. Molly even referred to them.

Malvo was going to let him go if he helped to hide the bodies. Lester is after him because Malvo bonked him on the head and ran.

She was sent to her death because Lester recognized how dangerous she was to him.

He must have figured he would be much better off without her because he was involved in some crimes and she was not clever enough to realize the importance of keeping her mouth shut. If she lived, she could have easily put Lester in prison with that mouth of hers.

It’s true that she was devoted to Lester and she was a very fine and wonderful woman to be sure … except for one thing - **her mouth.**

I’m sorry. But none of that is my fault.

There have been many real life cases of people faking that they were airline pilots, surgeons and all kinds of other things.

The movie, “Catch me if you can” documents the true story of Frank Abnigail who had no college education but impersonated being an airline pilot and a doctor and several other things and got away with it for years and years.

Learning enough to pass for a dentist would not be too difficult - especially if you had a partner to handle the truly difficult cases.

Yes, so we’re now operating on the premise that Malvo isn’t human at all but is a supernatural entity? If that’s the case then he’s basically invincible and the only ending will be him doing whatever he wants without any hope of defeating him.

He sent her to her death because he suspected that Malvo was in the office and better her than him. She was really quick on her feet and realized that Lester was hiding something. That’s why she lied and said it was her idea to leave early.

Really? Do you think you could walk into a dentist’s office and pretend to be a dentist and start treating patients?

So, you believe Malvo is a supernatural being or has some connection to a supernatural principle? That’s a very interesting theory. I wouldn’t dismiss it.

But if so, why does Malvo have to call in to Rundle Realty to get his assignments and answer to them for any delays, etc.

Would he need to do any of that if he were a supernatural being?

Did I say that I could do that?

I said there have been many real life cases of people who have done that.

You can look up Frank Abnigail if you are interested in how he did it. I don’t know the details but I suspect he would have read a few books on the subjects first to get a working knowledge.

Wow, I just did a search and it looks like there are cases of people pretending to be dentists. Here’s one:

Being a good dentist that didn’t cause enormous pain and alert a partner to being fake would be a lot tougher. Modern dentists are expected to be very careful about pain, and it is a tough thing to master, especially by mid-life.

For all those people who are leaning towards some supernatural theory regarding Malvo, consider all the mischevious things he has done.

1. Remember how he got the young man to urinate in the lady’s gas tank and then called her and told her and she came after the young man with a broom?

2. Remember how he called the older son of Sam Hesse and told him his father had left his entire estate to the younger son and how that caused the older son to break the collarbone of the younger one?

3. Remember when he visited Lester’s old home and told stories to the little children living there about all the murders that happened there and the noises heard in the night?

Those are just 3 examples. But if I recall, there have been more. What does that have to do with his being a supernatural being?

There is a supernatural being known as a “Dybbyk” (spelling not certain). If you look it up, it is a creature that loves to create mischief just like Malvo creates. If you look it up, you will learn these creatures have other powers and purposes and if the showrunner is attempting to compare Malvo to such a creature, that may shed some light on what is going on.

Personally, the thing I care most about is seeing the moron chief get his comeuppance. I sure do hope that will happen in the finale.

Here is a link to the Dybbyk:

I don’t think Malvo has anything supernatural about him. He’s just an extraordinarily clever man and an extraordinarily nasty one. He enjoys bringing misery into peoples’ lives. He reminds me of Aaron the Moor in Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, and I would not be surprised if the writers had taken their cue for Malvo from Aaron.

Here’s Aaron in typical braggadocio mood. It might be Malvo speaking.

Tit. Andr. Act V,i

Another thought about Shakespearean villains and Malvo. The poet Coleridge wrote in a marginal note on _Othello_ that Iago’s attempts at rationalizing his motives for wreaking such evil on those around him are “the motive-hunting of motiveless malignity”. Iago is simply, like Malvo, a nasty bastard.

Then of course the name Malvo itself irresistibly brings to mind Malvolio from _Twelfth Night_, Olivia’s villainous steward, a nasty piece of work himself albeit his villainy is circumscribed by the fact that _Twelfth Night_ is a comedy rather than a tragedy.

Someone can be symbolically a devil without being actually supernatural. Happens in literature all the time. Just like someone can be a Christ-figure without actually being Jesus Returned.
