As far as I know, there’s no mandatory topics on this board. I think I was pretty clear on what the subject of this thread would be. You were free to pass over it and go on to the next one if you chose. Some people would choose to open the thread and read the posts. Some people might care about celebrities. Some people might enjoy mocking celebrities. And some people might read the thread so they can then tell everyone else that this is the kind of thread they never read. ---

According to my lawyer friends, a lot of porn companies are going after people who torrent it. They just go after all the seeders/leachers IP’s and send out mass letters to threaten litigation and settle out of court. A list of 2-300 users that are willing to settle out of court for a hefty amount (I think my friends said something amounting to upwards of $2k a case) is common practice now. I’m willing to bet that this one will have a lot more than 2-300 seeders/leachers and potentially could be worth 6 figures. That and the publicity. It does however set a horrible precedent in terms of asking prices. Also, I feel bad for octomom now.
