It’s usually not worth the effort I would bet this is more so a matter of both parties agreeing to say that the deal is worth a million when the reality is it will pay far less. Kinda like NFL contracts. That said, Vivid will likely make a good amount of money due to web traffic and video sales. Probably not enough to justify paying her that much, but maybe they think it’s worth it as an investment. ---

I could believe they made a deal “worth” $1M. They pay $X up front and then Y% of the profits until $1M is reached. If the video is wildly successful, then she makes $1M. Otherwise, it’s dependent on what the sales are. ---

James Deen is on track to become a relatively household name - perhaps the next legendary male of porn. My somewhat degenerate but generally integrated friends and I are familiar with him and his, ahem, work. As far as the semi-mainstream is concerned, before this he did ‘The Canyons’ with Lindsey Lohan, and in searching for that I found t[his](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/05/james-deen-the-canyons_n_2808725.html) video of him saying that wearing condoms violates his first amendment rights. Interesting.
