Howdy all. Taxes have been mailed off to the appropriate destinations, gas tank (almost) filled (gas prices must be going up a bit, it had been $50 easily filled the tank, now it’s 1-2 gallons short). The Great February Shopping is done (24 more rolls of toilet paper, **swampy** ) and there are about 2 bites left on my Jersey Mike’s sammich. All before noontime…might award myself with a nap later on. Hope Tonka does ok, **flyboy** **Mouse M** , welcome and feel free to stick around the MMP. I let Turbo Tax figure my taxes out, but I try to type the info in, so I know where you’re coming from. Glad the damage is not catastrophic. **FCM** , glad the snow wasn’t that bad. No snow in N. Ali-bama, but it is near freezing and about a 15-20mph wind has brought out the three most dreaded words I learned as a child…“wind chill factor”. **talky** , {{ }} for Mom-unit on both fronts. OK, still have two bites remaining. All y’all continue taking care. ---

Howdy Y’all! Da cave is all clean and sanitized. Hirin’ that out is one of our smartest moves ever. I highly recommend this to anyone! In other news, 'tis downright cold out. The makes it feel about ten degrees colder that it actually is. BRRR! Glad to be inside and warm. **Flyboy** hope Tonka at least feels better soon. Sounds like he’s comfy and not in pain, so good for that. Just so y’all know, I did go out and get the mail and I brought both my neighbor’s and my biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans all the way back from the road to where they stay durin’ the week. Thus, I did adult today. ---

I threw together a quick supper because I kinda lost track of time. It was meh but we’ve been fed. Then I ran down to the mailbox - the cold here is the kind that just creeps into your bones - probably because it’s so damp. But I survived the walk alllllll the way to the road and back! Now back to crocheting! I didn’t get the valences done, but they’ll be hemmed first thing tomorrow - well, after shower and getting dressed. I still got a lot done today so I’m not that much of a slacker. The memory foam topper was delivered today and it’s taking a while to come back to shape after being vacuum-packed. No rush - we’re not anticipating guest any time soon. So don’t any of you show up expecting a bed for the night. Just sayin’… ---

Egad, what a title for the MMP this week. 😯 I cannot find out which vaccine phase I’m in. I spent three hours on the phone on hold at the county Dept. of Health listening to “Your call is important to us” and other lies before I gave up. The state Phase Finder site doesn’t find your phase; it merely tells you you’re not in this phase, and none of my docs know any more than I do. I don’t want to hear that I’ll get it eventually. I know that. I need to know something more specific. I don’t trust that the state will contact me when I’m eligible and have no other way to find out. I had a grief relapse. Walking is how I cope with that, so I’m heading out to try to numb myself with mindless meandering. {{{{Tonka}}}} ---

**{{{the LAs and Tonka}}}** When I got up this morning, it was snowing. 😮 Well, actually, it’s what the weather guessers would call snain. It was above freezing, so nothing really stuck. I’m not gonna lie: REALLY upset, I got a call back from the COVID hotline After getting my info and double-checking with her supervisor, she said even with the lupus diagnosis, I’m in the lowest tier and that even if the feds increase the amount of vaccine WA state gets, there’s such a shortfall, “You’ll probably be 65 (in September) before you’re eligible.” The Lupus Foundation of America says those of us with lupus are at high risk, but I guess the state doesn’t care. (It also doesn’t care about people with HIV.) I live alone. I haven’t seen my kids in over a year and my beloved siblings in 18 months, but I’ve told myself I could see the sibs this summer and my kids shortly thereafter. For complex reasons, my siblings and I can only gather in the summer. They’re all older and have had round one of the vaccine. One is in fragile health and may not survive 18 months. I’ve spent 10 months in solitary. Seeing my siblings next summer (They’ve all had first shot–live in other states.) was what was pulling me through. I can’t drive. I worked hard all my life until lupus and vision crap forced me to stop. I’m feeling pretty fucking expendable.
