Pumbaa in _The Lion King_. Disney’s first flatulant toon. Dogberry in _Much Ado About Nothing_. Nothing like low physical humor to remind snobs that Shakepeare didn’t write plays for snobs. Not on film, but in Aristophanes’ _The Clouds_ there’s a wonderful discussion as to whether or not the sound a gnat makes is a fart. ---

Harry in “Dumb and Dumber.” It goes a bit beyond just flatulence, but there was defeinitely some flatulating going on there. ---

The flatulence to end all flatulence HAS to be the satanic lettin’-her-rip in HENRY FOOL where the devil takes a mad dump. It’s really horrible and awful but you asked. There’s also the less Biblical scene in NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE which is incredibly gross and sans wit. ---

This is the perfect place to ask - In Sixteen Candles, when Anthony Michael Hall is dancing at the school dance to impress Molly Ringwald, does he fart at the end? There is a sound effect there that I could never quite figure out. I always thought either he farted, or his pants ripped. ---

Other then the ones above the only one I can recall and one that I found funny was when Austin Powers farted in the hottub. I’m really surprised no one else has mentioned it. Alotta - “You passed gas before me.” Austin - “Oh I’m sorry, was I supposed to wait?” OK, I messed up his line but it’s been so long since I’ve seen this movie. Since it was released in theaters in fact. ---
