Yes, although a thread may be “dead”, I do have a compulsion to find out **WHY** it is dead. I watched a lot of Quincy when I was a kid… ---

[Finally got me a good one!](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=472754) Had everything you would expect from a bannee: spouted nonsense in the OP designed to elicit annoyed responses, threats, insults, arrogance out the wazoo. And the best part is I got to watch it all unfold before the lock came down. ---
