You beat me to it. As a general rule, shoes should be darker than hosiery. The extreme version, which I’ve seen more than a few times, is black tights-white shoes.

Worst faux pas: the aforementioned hosiery-shoe disaster, and wearing pantyhose/tights/socks with open toed shoes. I think EVERYONE knows this is awful, but every summer I see it and it drives me insane. Why wear open toed shoes if you’re just gonna encase your feet in sweaty stockings? Not to mention that it looks like you have webbed feet.

Worst fads: banana clips for hair. Big fooshy ribbon-flounced barrettes. Stirrup pants with long sweaters. Stirrup pants period. Agh.

I can walk in them. I can run in them. Actually, I do better in 4"+ heels than I do in flat shoes, because my bad knees are tied into a torquing thing that happens when my weight is on my heel. WHen I wear 4" heels, my weight is on my toes and I’m far more comfortable and can walk MUCH further. Plus I think they look good. Plus I’m barely 5’2", I need all the help I can get 😉

Now, as for horrible fashions, I have to go with the elephant-sized pants that people wear around their asses. Usually with the hems dragging on the ground. The first time I saw someone dressed like that I almost drove off the road I was laughing so hard.
