All I’m trying to say there is that the OP could use some humility if he really thought he wanted to change that problem in the world. Everybody could use a little dose of humility when they want to start talking about changing other people’s lives, especially if they are not a member of the group of people whose lives they want to see changed. It is not absurd. Fine, so I couched it in pretty black and white terms, but that’s my point. ---

My initial reaction was bewilderment. Upon hearing the explanation, my reaction was one of gratitude. I’ll take my reactions over yours any day, even as I gracefully mature. I once tried to face my insane trypanophobia by watching “Trainspotting.” I made through 20 minutes before I had to shut the TV off…and there was only one really bad injection scene. The others with implied injections were bad enough. I couldn’t take it. ---

Yeah, but it had naked Ewan McGregor! I volunteered to give blood when I was a senior in high school, at our school’s blood drive. Unfortunately, I looked WAAAY too shakey and freaked out when they started to test my blood type, so woman testing me wouldn’t let me do it. It probably wouldn’t bother me now, considering how many times I’ve been stuck in the last ten years or so. (The only shots that REALLY upset me are novocaine shots. Those hurt like a BITCH.) ---

I swear, the dentist was using a railroad spike to give me novocaine.
