They worry that your “advanced/progressive society” will dictate who is deserving of health care. This is why people fear ‘death panels’. Too fat, why bother, too old, why bother, smoker? No health care for you until you quit. Then the “My tax dollars!!” screed starts. I don’t want to pay for birth control, fat people, old people, people whose diseases are cause by bad habits. Heart attack? Were you eating right? No? Well you have to now or we won’t pay. Who decides once this snow ball starts rolling? You and your advanced/progressive society? Yeah, that’s what I thought. ---

The OP is a fatophobe! :eek: He is a closeted fattie - interesting theory. I vote for “troll” because I can assure you as former lab technologist (the ones who do the vast majority of blood draws in labs and hospitals), his scenario didn’t likely happen as he told it. There are many holes (no pun intended) in his story. ---
