Heh … I was wondering if Fat Princess would make it to the message boards.
I’m a senior game designer at Sony. Part of my job is to provide design support for games we’re publishing. Fat Princess is one of my titles. I’m not the lead designer … he works for the developer. But I have been collaborating with the team for the last year to shape the play experience.
It’s fun as hell to play, BTW.

I don’t like the idea of anyone force feeding anyone, even in a game. It seems a strange aspect to the win strategy. I have more issue with the whole “rescue the princess” BS than I do about the girth of said, er, princess.
Then again, it’s a freaking video game. I let my feminist umbrage rest up for more serious shit.

However you can provide a cite by sending us all free copies of the game. And any others you may have hanging around too. Just to cover all the bases.

Did these women freak out like this at the versions of Grand Theft Auto where you can fuck a hooker, kill her, and then dispose of her body as part of the game? Or are they just pissed at games that involve cake and fat chicks?

It doesn’t actually seem to be making fun of fat women, really. She’s hard to carry, but both cute and desirable within the game schema, no? I think it’s quirky and fun looking, myself (although I find capture-the-flag games to be boring), and yes, indeed, more interesting/“cute” than a jive-ass treasure chest with gold in it. But I could certainly be missing something. Second on free advance copies of the game for armchair observation!

Yes. Both sides love their princess, whether she’s fat or thin. That’s why they’re fighting so hard to rescue her.
It’s probably not clear from the screenshots because the little soldiers are so small but you can actually customize them to be either male or female. So you might have an all-girl army storming the castle to carry the princess to freedom.

I am just looking for a very generalized summary of what the game is. So you have to feed your princess so people won’t steal her. Who is trying to steal her? Is it a multiplayer game? Do you try to steal other peoples’ princesses?
