> I asked my dad to pick our dance song when I got married. He’s a HUGE Motown buff, and picked "Sunshine of My Life’ by Stevie Wonder. It’s not a really slow song but we were able to do a very happy, sweet dance together to a song that we both loved.

That is a great sweet song.

:dubious: You’re doing the mother-son and father-daughter dance at the same time? Aren’t they usually seperate?

[A list of Motown songs](http://www.wedalert.com/songs/reception/motown.asp)

I just thought of an 80’s cover song that I have always liked more than the original. I think it was by Robert Palmer. \*\* Sea of Love. \*\* I think that is the title.

Both of those stories are so incredibly cool. I’m smiling and tearing up at the same time just thinking about it and I don’t even know you guys.

Don’t let others tell you what you should or need to do, is all the advice I have. Screw tradition, do what feels right to you. And have a lovely time.

Whatever you do, stay away from **Afternoon Delight**. It starts off cute…

Except the Chicken Dance. Can’t leave that out. Or the Macarena, either.

No. No. _No!_ When my best friend got married, I told her that, while I’d do anything for her, I would not be in the room for the Chicken Dance and I kept my word. I watched it from the doorway. 😉 If I’m fortunate enough to marry, while there may well be chicken at the wedding and I might even feel a bit chicken on the day thereof, there will be no Chicken Dance!

What do you folks think of Rod Stewart’s _Forever Young_ for this?
