Juan Williams is still on occasionally. He still gets trotted out as the token black. They’ve been using him a lot to bash Obama (“see, even this colored feller thinks that preacher don’t know his place”)

Actually CNN has an anti-Obama black guy as well. Not sure of his name, but it’s also obvious that they chosen him to give the serious version of the Daily Show “Senior Black Correspondent” viewpoint.

I believe Juan Williams from NPR was a Fox correspondent for quite a while, until he got fed up with being treated like a side-show freak by his co-workers and quit.

I believe Juan Williams is still on Fox News Sunday every week as part of the panel (as is Mara Liasson.)

I hate how commentary shows bring on black people when a story involves a black person. “Hey! This story involves a black person. We better get black people stat.” Or when it involves immigration: “Get me some Hispanics!”

True. And yet, I shudder to think what would happen if they didn’t.

Well, there are intelligent black and Hispanic people out there who could be on these shows regularly and not just for the “black” and “immigration” segments.
On second thought, intelligent people (black, white, Hispanic, Asian) are not on these shows. It is more of an attention whore format.
