Tom Robbins - Tibetan Peach Pie
If you liked any of his books, and I do, this is wonderful.

The autobiography of the last emperor of China. It was written under the watchful eye of the communist government, so take the last few chapters with a large grain of salt, but it is still fascinating.

Depending on which edition you get, it may be titled From Emperor to Citizen, or The Last Manchu. He may be credited as Aisin-Gioro Puyi (his Manchu name) or Henry Pu Yi (his western name).

I’d guess the blend is 30% fact, 70% fiction. 142 years old, and it’s still one of the very funniest books I’ve ever read. The elaborate joke about the camel, less than a page long, is itself worth the price of admission.
